Mistake
I passed through the South of Yangzi
The face waiting at the turn of seasons, like a lotus flower, blooms and wilts
Without the east wind, the willow catkins in March do not flutter
Your heart is like the lonesome little town
Like its streets of cobblestones near nightfall
When footfalls are silent and the bed curtains of March not unveiled
Your heart is a little window tightly shut
My clattering hooves are beautiful mistakes
I am not a homecoming man but a passing traveler …

郑愁予
郑愁予，1956年参与创立现代派诗社，1958年毕业于台湾中兴大学，曾在基隆港务局任职。1968年应邀参加爱荷华大学的“国际写作计划”，1970年入爱荷华大学英文系创作班进修，获艺术硕士学位。重要诗作包括《梦土上》《衣钵》《窗外的女奴》《燕人行》《雪的可能》《莳花刹那》《刺绣的歌谣》《寂寞的人坐着看花》等12首，及诗集《郑愁予诗选集》《郑愁予诗集Ⅰ》等2部。诗集《郑愁予诗集Ⅰ》被列为“影响台湾三十年的三十本书”之一。诗人在80年代曾多次选为台湾各文类“最受欢迎作家”，名列榜首。曾获青年文艺奖（1966）、中山文艺奖（1967）、中国时报“新诗推荐奖”（1968）及“国家文艺奖”（1995）。作品已有八种欧、亚文字译介。诗人思维敏捷，感慨殊深，融合古今体悟，汲取国内外经验，创作力充沛。他的诗作以优美、潇洒、富有抒情韵味著称，意象多变，温柔华美，自成风格。他的成名作《错误》（1954）在台湾首次发表时，因为该诗的最后一句“我达达的马蹄是美丽的错误/我不是归人，是个过客”，一时间整个台湾岛都在传诵“达达的马蹄”之声。
